Maartje van der Woude Principal Investigator Resilience & Security
Maartje van der Woude is Professor of Law and Society at Leiden University's Van Vollenhoven Institute (VVI). Her expertise lies in the areas of (anti-)terrorism, border control, immigration, law enforcement, public order and safety.
Maartje combines legal and empirical research methods to view law on the books and law in action from the perspective of citizens, individuals, organizations and institutions.
In 2018, Maartje received the KNAW/ Heineken Young Scientist Award in the Humanities and joined the Royal Holland Society of Sciences in 2020.
