A government that works with citizens brings hope, but also many dilemmas
Leading up to the national elections in November 2023, Leiden scholars respond to the question: What aspects should a new government not lose sight of? Anouk de Koning answers that question from the theme of social security. She shows that the promise of a personal, democratic and effective government has enormous appeal, but that a government working together with citizens is not only encouriging but also involves many dilemmas.
